Consult the publications of the Ministry of Health

Edicola Salute is the application for Android smartphones and tablets created by the Italian Ministry of Health to allow free consultation of the Ministry's publications.

The Ministry of Health wants to inform and update all citizens on the subject of health and health and offers its publications with Edicola Salute divided into three categories "Health Notebooks", "Report on the country's health status" and "Brochures", edited by the General Directorate of Communication and Institutional Relations.

The Notebooks of the Ministry of Health

The periodical "Quaderni del Ministry of Health", born in 2010, represented the Ministry's return to high scientific level editorial activity. The aim of the publication, in print, on the web and now on tablets, is to promote the culture of appropriateness in clinical and diagnostic pathways, primarily among NHS operators. The topics covered, issue by issue, with a monographic approach, address the most important fields and skills where the definition of common work standards needs to be sought and achieved.

The Report on the Health Status of the Country (RSSP)

The Report on the Health Status of the Country (RSSP) is an essential component of the planning, programming and evaluation cycle of the National Health Service. The Report was introduced by Law no. 833 of 23 December 1978, establishing the National Health Service, as periodic information from the Minister of Health to Parliament on the state of health of the country and the implementation of health policies, and was subsequently identified by Legislative Decree no. 502 of 30 December 1992, integrated by Legislative Decree no. 229 of 19 June 1999, as a tool for evaluating the implementation process of the National Health Plan.

The objectives of the Report are:

■ illustrate the health conditions of the population present in the national territory;

■ describe the resources used and the activities carried out by the National Health Service;

■ expose the results achieved with respect to the objectives identified by the National Health Plan;

■ present the results achieved in terms of efficiency and quality of care of the National Health Service;

The process of preparing the Report is supported:

■ the coordination of an Editorial Committee, with the functions of addressing and identifying the topics;

■ by the collaboration of an Editorial Committee, responsible for the development of contents;

■ the participation of authors identified for in-depth analysis of individual thematic areas.

The Statistics Directorate Office, within the General Directorate of the Health Information and Statistical System, is the reference structure of the aforementioned organizational apparatus and takes care of the implementation of analyzes of information sources, in relation to some specific themes.

The editorial production and the tablet version is managed by the General Directorate of Communication and Institutional Relations
